Reiki is the name given to a healing system devised by a man named Mikao Usui. The name Reiki translates to mean Universal (rei) life force (ki).

I believe that the potential to heal is within us all and that the Reiki 1 attunements awaken this ability that may have been laying dormant.

After the Reiki attunements, this universal life force energy (Reiki) can be channelled through the body and is drawn though the practitioner out through the hands (usually) by the person/animal/plant/object that the practitioner is working with. Reiki has its own intelligence and will know where it is needed, however, we also work with specific hand positions in specific areas of the body as well.
